Neat Filing Cabinet

The Neat Filing Cabinet was a last minute accessory I chose to add to my order. I am extremely organized and love to have a place for everything. Because this has a drawer, I opted out of the desk drawer. I feel like I could've used both for extra storage space since there is none on the desk. The file cabinet can be converted easily to legal or letter which is nice. I ordered some plastic drawer organizers which fit relatively well. I'd love to see Ergonofis release a Neat Filing Cabinet/Desk Drawer organizer insert that fits to their sizes. Overall extremely happy I added this to my order at the last minute. If you want to become more organized or are super organized, I highly recommend the filing cabinet. It's worth it!

I love the cabinet. The walnut wood is beautiful! I just wish it was a couple inches wider so the files could face forward instead of sideways. Then it could fit more files with less wasted space.

I bought the white and maple Neat cabinet several months ago. The maple frontage panels were beautifully crafted and the cabinet rails are strong and level, but the MDF board that makes up the rest of the cabinet is so brittle that when I tried to roll the finished cabinet over carpet on its wheels, the wheels literally tore out of the bottom panel. This left very large splintered holes in the bottom panel of the cabinet that could not be fixed despite attempts to secure the wheels with very strong wood glue. Ultimately the unit was unusable.

After discussing it with a lovely customer service rep over a few weeks, Ergonofis was able to help me replace the cabinet with an identical one. Unfortunately this one arrived with pre-existing structural damage, again to the bottom panel where the bolts are pre-drilled for either feet or wheels to be attached (I did not attempt to attach wheels this time, just rested it on a moving disc and hoped for the best). While the new frontages were made of good quality maple, their surfaces were still a bit ragged and unfinished compared to the previous one. I'm not confident enough in woodworking to try to sand it down and seal it again myself, so I left it as-is.

I love my Sway desk and I love my desk shelf and laptop holder--the craftsmanship on Ergonofis's solid wood products is generally excellent, even if black knots sometimes make their way onto the displayed surfaces, as they did on my desk.

For the Neat cabinet, however: For the price, as pretty as it is to look at, I had hoped for much better structural integrity. In my view, this piece falls short of the image of modern luxury office furniture that Ergonofis presents, and I would not recommend this cabinet as it is currently built.
