It all started with a simple problem.

Back in 2015, our co-founder Samuel Finn was juggling two businesses, spending long hours at his desk. As someone passionate about health and fitness, he knew the risks of sitting all day—but standing all day wasn’t the answer either. Frustrated by the lack of high-quality sit-stand desks in North America, he did what any entrepreneur would do: he built his own.

That first makeshift standing desk—crafted from old car tires—was far from perfect, but it sparked an idea. What if a desk could be more than just a surface to work on? What if it could move with you, support your well-being, and look just as beautiful as the rest of your home?

Samuel teamed up with brand expert Kimberley Pontbriand, and together, they set out to create something better. In 2015, Ergonofis was born, blending thoughtful design with premium materials to create the first height-adjustable desk that was as functional as it was stunning. The Sway Desk, with its smooth, locally crafted wood and seamlessly integrated controls, quickly became a game-changer.

What started as an idea has grown into something bigger than we ever imagined.

Since then, our team has expanded to over 20 people, all sharing the same passion for craftsmanship and innovation. We've launched new standing desks, introduced ergonomic seating, carefully designed accessories, and expanded our reach across Canada and the U.S. We made a huge move to bring our warehouse operations and offices under one roof—so we could work even closer together, refining every detail of our process. And through it all, we’ve celebrated countless wins, milestones, and game nights that make this journey even more meaningful.

But some things haven’t changed. Every piece we create follows the same philosophy: design with intention, obsess over the details, and source responsibly. We believe your workspace should feel as good as it looks, inspiring focus, creativity, and well-being.
